In 1952 Romania, demonic forces terrorize Saint Cartha’s monastery, claiming the lives of two nuns. The Vatican dispatches Father Burke and novice Sister Irene to investigate. Encountering the malevolent entity Valak, they uncover a harrowing history of occult origins. As they strive to seal a rift unleashed during World War II, Irene battles possession, ultimately triumphing with the Blood of Christ. Unbeknownst to them, Frenchie, their ally, becomes an unwitting host. Twenty years later, Maurice’s possession by Valak leads to the Warrens’ paranormal investigation in Massachusetts, tying past and present in a chilling tale of demonic menace and sacrificial redemption.
